Focus your energy on yourself
It’s not even the editor-in-chief like I thought - it’s a writer for the magazine. I went through some of her other tweets and…. (TW: racism and sizeism)
Got into a Twitter brawl with someone
I’m guessing she’s used to saying “science supports..” and getting away with it cause she cowered when I asked her to cite the source. I can’t tell if she’s more of an ICP or TEA debater.
She then spewed FA H8 disguised as comments about “health” all through her tweets.
Leave “science” to us geeks as we know how to reference and don’t use nouns (“they”, “science”, “doctors”) in lieu of printed empirical literature. Thanks!
kickin’ ass and taking names
I don’t want @rosasparks to feel bad about her thighs or legs. :-\
Us short woman with tattoo canvases to die for should brag. They touch and they intimidate, but that doesn’t take anything away from our beauty.
Let’s just get together and crack coconuts for our coladas and tackle each other. :-)
If I ever write a “diet” book…
I would name it “Just eat the fucking cheesecake”.
Seriously, just have it.
Dancer/biker thighs
Whatever, I have more canvas for my future tattoo(s)! Plus they’re great deterrent from anyone trying to tackle me. ;-)

The evening before Easter we went shopping for kicks. I tried on 10 dresses but only bought one of ten (not the one above - I bought a ruffle black dress that flaunted my body). I took three shots per dress as a personal experiment to see my body in different cuts and materials, and you know what? It was one of the most gratifying experiences I have even myself in a while.
“remove friend”
I just “defriended” someone I was friends with in high school pageantry. She made a PRO ANA reference in her update regarding her being at the gym and I just couldn’t tolerate it. On top of that, she recently photoshopped her pictures to make it look like she had gained weight because she thought it would be “funny” to be fat.
I’m sorry but managing to insult people struggling with eating disorders and [people who are active in] the FA movement in one update is grounds for deletion. We don’t have the same sense of humor or the same views on body acceptance, and I can’t imagine how she evolved into such a superficial individual. Actually, scratch that… I know how she can do it and that makes me despise her.
OH MY GOD, Y’ALL, THE DOCUMENTARY IS FINALLY UP! This has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I hope you all enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.
Special thanks: to my lovely stars, Jessica and Keena—I love you both for life; to Hannah and Ivana, the best co-producers a girl could ask for; to Re/Dress NYC and Taueret for being fucking kick-ass; to Substantia Jones and The Adipositivity Project for being one of the most inspiring examples of fat-visibility-as-activism; and to my entire documentary film-making class and all the friends who helped along the way. I LOVE YOU ALL. <3
If you have any questions or comments, please email me.
Margitte, this is brilliant.
(And this made me love Jessica even more. Who knew it even possible?!)
I was lucky to enough to know Jessica when we worked together at Cold Stone in high school. She was always fun to be around and I was bummed out when our Stoner days came to a close. She amazes me with every blog entry she has and all her advocacy work. <3
