We’re all alone in the end
I saw Buttahlove’s reblog of the “Dreams of a Life” trailer and I began to spiral- I researched Joyce Vincent like crazy and all I could do to not cry like a youngin’ was keep looking… I was disgusted with humanity.
Joyce’s death and ‘invisibility’ made me angry as well. I hate everyone - well, I should say I’m coming down from hating everyone (more than usual) - but I hate that we will never know what truly happened. No documentary will ever reveal all of someone’s intrapersonal struggles or deepest secrets no matter how many diaries you read or friends you interview.
I told my friend about [Joyce Vincent] while we were on our lunch break and she returned with a story about a freak elevator accident in NYC. Suzanne Hart was stepping onto the elevator… Well, you can Google the rest. Within the same week, Annette Lujan at CSU Long Beach died while trying to escape from a stuck elevator. I get that all three were accidents but [JV] was forgotten about - there were no articles on her until three years postmortem.
I think I might see how many other cases are like hers (I get weird episodes of random obsessions sometimes)…. Or maybe I’ll pull myself out of this and bake a trio of cookies.
